History|The Knowhow

The History

Aurélien and Régine Silvestrini lacked neither courage or daring when they acquired the small vineyard of one hectare, which nowadays includes three of the most prestigeous appellations of the Libournais : Lussac-St-Emilion, Montagne-St-Emilion, and Pomerol.

In 1982 their son Max, a graduated in chemical engineering together with his wife Liliane, gave up his career in industry to join the family business where they have worked passionately ever since. With enthusiasm and obstinacy they have succeeded in extending the vineyard, updating the cellars and adopting the latest techniques in winemaking, thereby assuring (much to the delight of their customers) an ongoing improvement in the quality of the wine.

Following in their footsteps, since 2005, their grandchildren, Jérôme and Sabine, are now devoting their energy to the development and the success of the family business.

The Knowhow

They take very seriously their task as wine producers; combining traditional and modern techniques to give a perfect balance to the finished product.
Close monitoring of the growing cycle of the vines enables them to maintain the viability of the vinestok, to anticipate the yield and to check the quality of the grapes.
The vineyard is harvested section by section, or plot by plot, ensuring that the grapes have reached optimal ripeness before picking. Each batch is then meticulously and systematically sorted.
Then follows a long maceration and astrict control of the temperature during the fermentation process.
Frequent tastings are made. Then the wine is subtley blended and finally comes to life.
